One of the concluding events of the 2023 volleyball season, the Men’s Volleyball Club World Championship 2023, is slated to be held from December 6 to December 10, 2023, in Bengaluru, India. The defending champion Sir Sicoma Perugia from Italy, Turkey’s Halkbank Spor Kulübü, Brazil’s biggest clubs Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei and Itambé Minas, and Japan’s renowned Suntory Sunbirds are all a part of the event and will aim to collect the coveted title. India’s Ahmedabad Defenders have also secured themselves a spot in the event and will compete against these prominent teams, after winning the Prime Volleyball League 2023.
The local favorites Ahmedabad Defenders will be up against the reigning champions, Sir Safety Perugia on December 8, 2023, at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. In their first match, the Defenders lost to Itambe Minas by 0-3 (22-25, 23-25, 19-25) in the Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship 2023. They will have a daunting challenge against Perugia, who won their first game, comprehensively defeating Minas by 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-22).
