Radu Albot, a professional tennis player, was born in Moldova on November 11, 1989. He is the first player from Moldova to have won the ATP singles (2019 Delray Beach Open) and doubles (2015 Istanbul Open) titles. Albot has won 7 single Challenger titles, 10 double Challenger titles, 1 ATP World Tour singles title, 1 ATP World Tour doubles title, and 14 single Futures championships throughout his professional career. He has constantly represented Moldova in Davis Cup matches since 2007, and he now holds the singles and total wins records. On August 2, 2021, he dropped out of the top 100 after eight losses in the opening rounds. He ended the year with a 6-15 ATP win-loss record. Albot defeated Australian wildcard Aleksandar Vukic in the third round of the 2022 Australian Open as a qualifier. He defeated Lukas Rosol to win the title in the 2022 Istanbul Challenger.
