The first of three ATP Masters 1000 competitions held on clay is the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, which turned 100 years old in 2006. Due to its magnificent setting, the Monte-Carlo Country Club, and long history of champions, the tournament is a player and fan favourite. Rafael Nadal of Spain has won 11 titles at the competition, including an Open-Era record eight straight victories from 2005 to 2012.

Men’s professional tennis players compete in the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters, which is currently held on outdoor clay courts. The 116th iteration of the yearly Monte Carlo Masters competition is being supported for the 14th time by Rolex. It’s taking place in France’s Roquebrune-Cap-Martin at the Monte Carlo Country Club. The competition is an ATP Masters 1000 competition on the ATP Tour in 2023.

The field will be led by Novak Djokovic at the opening Masters 1000 stop of the clay swing. In the absence of Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, the defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas and the hot tandem of Daniil Medvedev and Jannik Sinner will attempt to challenge the World No. 1. Tennis fans will have plenty to cheer about in the coming days with a number of intriguing matches scheduled.

Schedule and Dates

The 2023 Monte Carlo Masters will have six rounds of play excluding the qualifying rounds. These are the round of 64, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals. The main draw of the tournament is scheduled to begin on Sunday, April 9 and conclude on Sunday, April 16. Here is the round-wise schedule of the ATP 1000 event.

Seeds

The top two seeds in the competition are Novak Djokovic and defending champion Stefanos Tsitsipas. In his most recent match, Djokovic lost to Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final of the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships. In contrast, Stefanos Tsitsipas only advanced to the last 16 of the Miami Open before falling to Karen Khachanov.
