Fourth seed Sara Sorribes Tormo will face sixth seed Irina-Camellia Begu in the semi-final of the 2022 Palermo Ladies Open. Sorribes Tormo emerged victorious in her quarter-final match against seventh seed Anna Bondar on Friday by a score of 6-2, 6-3 in what was a dominant display. The Spaniard hit four out of eight break points and recorded 74% and 57% on the first and second serves respectively. Earlier in the competition, the fourth seed had defeated the likes of Ana Bogdan and Leolia Jeanjean. Sorribes Tormo had a decent outing at the Ladies Open Lausanne, making it as far as the quarter-final stage where she was beaten by Caroline Garcia.
Irina-Camellia Begu also recoded a comfortable victory in her quarter-final bout as she made short work of Diane Parry. The score at the end of the match was 6-1, 6-3 with the Romanian hitting three aces and winning six out of 18 break points. She also recorded 67% and 56% on the first and second serves respectively.
Sara Sorribes Tormo and Irina-Camellia Begu will take on each other on Saturday, July 23 in the semi-final of the 2022 WTA Palermo Open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 18 and conclude on July 24 this year.

The 2022 Palermo Open will have five rounds of play for WTA competitors. These are the first round, second round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The tournament is scheduled to be held from July 18 to July 24, but the qualifiers will commence from July 16 for women’s categories.
