The sixth seeded women’s doubles pair of Desirae Krawczyk and and Demi Schuurs will take on the all-American team of Taylor Townsend and Caty McNally in the quarter-final of the 2022 US Open. Krawczyk and Schuurs defeated the team of Zhang Shuai and Marta Kostyuk 6-4, 6-4 in the round of 16. The sixth seeds hit one ace and converted five out of 10 break points. Townsend and McNally also had a good day at the office when they beat Bernarda Pera and Dalma Galfi in their round of 16 match. The score at the end of the match was 6-4, 6-4 where the Americans scored five aces and converted three out of eight break points.
Schuurs/Krawczyk and Townsend/McNally are scheduled to face each other on Wednesday, September 7 in the quarter-final of the 2022 US Open. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
