Given the current form of the other two players, this match has the feel of deciding who will be the runner-up in the final. However, neither of these two will see it that way, and it should be an entertaining match to watch. So far in Cleveland, Aliaksandra Sasnovich has been very convincing. Similarly, the Russian has won eight consecutive matches and recently won a title in Washington. Both have two career titles, but only one will be able to compete for a third. Pera is probably more dangerous on clay, so the Russian has the upper hand in this one. Samsonova also has more off-the-ground power than the American. Pera will have to defend well and take any opportunities she gets to be aggressive and dictate points with her forehand.
