At such a young age, Holger Rune has mastered the art of recovering from defeat and achieving comeback victories. He demonstrated this talent against world No. 23 Alex de Minaur, a fighter himself. Mikael Ymer, the top-ranked player in Sweden, tested him in the quarterfinal (7-5 6-3), and he defeated Emil Ruusuvuori in the semifinal (7-6 7-6), needing two tiebreakers (6-2 6-2). In two trips to Stockholm, the Greek No. 1 has never lost a match and has just once lost a set in seven encounters. In the title match here in 2018, he defeated former world No. 10 Ernests Gulbis to win his first ATP title.
