The American just advanced to the Canadian Open quarterfinals before falling to Dan Evans of Great Britain in three sets. During that run, Tommy Paul defeated Marin Cilic and Carlos Alcaraz. His fourth-round showing in Indian Wells from the previous year was surpassed by that as his best performance in a Masters competition. However, he has never advanced past the second round in Cincinnati. The American, though, has been in fantastic form lately, making it to Wimbledon’s fourth round and the quarterfinals in Washington.

In Atlanta, where he started his American hard court season, Jenson Brooksby advanced to the final but fell to Alex de Minaur in straight sets. He had previously lost to Reilly Opelka in Dallas in February, making this his second final loss of the year and third overall. He subsequently fell in the first round in Washington and last week was eliminated in the second round of Montreal after being soundly defeated in straight sets by the Spaniard Roberto Batuista-Agut. But this will be his first time in Cincinnati.

Tommy Paul and Jenson Brooksby are scheduled to face one another in the Opening round of the 2022 Cincinnati Open on Tuesday, August 16. The tournament is scheduled to run from August 14 till August 21.

The 2022 Cincinnati Open will see six rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These include the round of 64, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final for both men’s and women’s. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 14 and conclude on August 21 this year.
