Eighth seed Nuria Parrizas-Diaz will face Jasmine Paolini in the quarter-final of the 2022 Palermo Ladies Open. Parrizas-Diaz defeated Julia Grabher of Austria in the round of 16 of the competition by a score of 6-2, 6-4. The Spaniard had earlier beaten US player Asia Mohammed in the first round at Palermo. Parrizas-Diaz has not had a decent showing in any major competition in a while. She was eliminated in the first round by Petra Martic at the Ladies Open Lausanne and at Wimbledon, the Parrizas-Diaz was beaten by Claire Liu, again in the first round.
Jasmine Paolini might be ranked lower than her opponent, but she will have the full support of the Palermo crowd as she is a home favorite. The Italian defeated Anna Karolina Schmiedlova in the first round by a score of 6-3, 6-1. Paolini might have had to go to the limit in her round of 16 match against third seed Zhang Shuai but the Chinese player had to withdraw due to an injury.
Nuria Parrizas-Diaz and Jasmine Paolini will take on each other on Friday, July 22 in the quarter-final of the 2022 WTA Palermo Open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 18 and conclude on July 24 this year.

The 2022 Palermo Open will have five rounds of play for WTA competitors. These are the first round, second round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The tournament is scheduled to be held from July 18 to July 24, but the qualifiers will commence from July 16 for women’s categories.
