Dan Evans and Oscar Otte are scheduled to face each other in the first round of the 2022 ATP Vienna Open on October 25.
Dan Evans is doing well to rack up victories, but he is unable to secure the crucial victory he requires to break into the top-20. After competing in three events in Asia (2) and Europe (1) over the past two weeks, he has only fallen three positions from his world ranking of #23 at the end of the US Open. Nevertheless, the former British No. 1 has had a very good few months, especially in light of his form and confidence issues in the first half. Between the Australian Open and Wimbledon, he was unable to make a quarterfinal appearance on the main circuit, but in the following three months, he has achieved four such results.
Oscar Otte will join the main draw as a lucky loser after falling to clay-court specialist Thiago Monteiro in the final qualifying round on Sunday. In Monte Carlo earlier this year, he competed in his most recent main tour qualifying round, losing to Jaume Munar Clar in three sets in QR2 and Emil Ruusuvuori in the first round (as a lucky loser). The German has recently suffered from injuries and narrow losses, but something has finally gone his way after a while. Seven of his 12 matches have gone the distance since recovering from knee surgery at the US Open, and he has lost six of them.
Dan Evans and Oscar Otte are scheduled to face one another in the first round of the 2022 ATP Vienna Open on Tuesday, October 25. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
The ATP Vienna Open will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
