Cameron Norrie has been in fantastic form this season at The Championships. The Brit secured a dominant victory of Steve Johnson in the third round on Saturday and advanced to the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. The ninth seed recorded a comfortable 6-4, 6-1, 6-0 over Johnson in a match that saw him smash three aces and convert six out of 21 break points. Norrie’s next opponent will be another American in the form of Tommy Paul.
Paul, who is seeded 30th at The Championships this season, has not really had a substantial so far in the competition. All his matches have been against unseeded players and the American won all in straight sets, an impressive feat nonetheless. Against Jiri Vesely in the third round, Paul four aces and converted five out of seven break points to win the contest 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.
Norrie and Paul are scheduled to face each other on Sunday, July 3 in the round of 16 of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 3 as the likes of Djokovic, Norrie, Alcaraz and others will be in action.
