The match concluded with Djoker Nole earning a dominant 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 victory. The top seed is yet to win a Grand Slam this season, so winning the most prestigious one would make quite a statement. His next challenge is one of the brightest upstarts in tennis today, Tim van Rijthoven.
Van Rijthoven’s 2022 season has been sensational so far. The 25-year-old stormed into the spotlight at Hertogenbosch when he beat world no. 1 Daniil Medvedev in the final to win the title. The Dutchman then moved on to Wimbledon where he has beaten the likes of Federico Delbonis, Reilly Opelka and Nikoloz Basilashvili.
Djokovic and van Rijthoven are scheduled to face each other on Sunday, July 3 in the round of 16 of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 3 as the likes of Djokovic, Norrie, Alcaraz and others will be in action.
