13th in the world Cameron Norrie is three wins away from his second 50-win season in a row. Last season, the British player went 52-25, winning two titles in six finals. So far this year, the 27-year-old is 47-24. He has competed in four finals, winning in Delray Beach and Lyon and placing second in Acapulco and Los Cabos. Despite consistently delivering strong performances, Norrie’s recent form is cause for concern. The left-hander has played seven matches since losing in the fourth round of the US Open, winning three and losing four. Norrie, who reached her first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon this year, has two semifinal appearances, six quarter final appearances, and four finals this year.

55th in the world Pedro Cachin, who defeated Alejandro Tabilo 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 in the first qualifying round, was defeated in the second qualifying round by France’s Quentin Halys 6-7 (6-8), 6-3, 3-6. Despite this, he was able to enter the main draw as a lucky loser. Cachin is a clay court specialist who has played the majority of his matches on the surface and has little experience playing on hard courts. However, he is 5-5 on the tour this year, with a 4-3 record on hard and a 1-2 record on clay. He has, however, competed extensively at the Challenger level, winning four titles from seven Challenger finals in 2022. And it’s no surprise that all seven finals were played on clay.
