The Erste Bank Open was established in 1974 and is now an ATP 500 event played on indoor hardcourts. Prior to being an ATP 500 event in 2015, it was a part of the Grand Prix tennis circuit from 1974 to 1989, the ATP World Series from 1990 to 1995, the ATP International Series Gold/ATP Championship Series from 1996 to 2008, and the ATP 250 from 2009 to 2014. The top four seeds in Vienna are Daniil Medvedev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Andrey Rublev, and Taylor Fritz.

The ATP Vienna Open will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
