The Dubai Tennis Championships will soon welcome the top ATP players after hosting the WTA circuit. 2023's ATP 500 competition will take place from February 27 to March 4th.
As the top seed, world No. 1 Novak Djokovic commands a crowded draw. After winning the Australian Open, he is making a comeback and going for his third consecutive championship of the year. In 2020, he won his most recent match there. The second seed is Andrey Rublev, the reigning champion. Daniil Medvedev and Felix Auger-Aliassime, two players ranked in the top 10, are seeded third and fourth, respectively. Malek Jaziri, Alexei Popyrin, and Thanasi Kokkinakis were among the winners of the wildcards. The tournament is sure to produce plenty of thrilling matches during the week because so many top men’s tour players will be competing.
The competition was initially conducted as an ATP 250 event without the necessary facilities in 1993. By 1996, a brand-new stadium had been built to house the competition. It was later upgraded to an ATP 500 competition. With eight victories, Roger Federer now owns the record here. Novak Djokovic is second with five. The other noteworthy ex-champions include Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, and Rafael Nadal. A 32-player draw is used for the outdoor hardcourt competition.
