Andy Murray’s return to form has been something fans were hoping to see for quite a while and it finally seems to be happening. Murray’s 2022 Citi Open campaign will begin against Swedish player Mikael Ymer in a round of 64 tie. The Scot had taken part in the 2022 Hall of Fame Open last month where he was seeded sixth. He reached the quarter-final of the competition, but was beaten by Alexander Bublik in straight sets. At Wimbledon however, Murray could only make it as far as the second round. The former world no. 1 found his former form at the Stuttgart Open earlier this year as he made it through to the final.

Of late, Mikael Ymer has not been in the best of forms. The Swede was eliminated in the first round of both the Croatia Open and the Swiss Open. Before that, he had taken part in the ATP Challenger Salzburg but was defeated in the round of 16 against Corentin Moutet. Against Murray, Ymer does not have a big chance of winning on paper but the Swede would very much like a shock victory.

Andy Murray vs Mikael Ymer Date

Andy Murray and Mikael Ymer are scheduled to face one another on Tuesday, August 2 in the round of 64 of the 2022 Citi Open. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:30 am IST.
