The Surbiton Trophy is a grass-court tennis tournament for male and female professional players. From 1997 to 2008, the event was held annually in Surbiton, England, as part of the ATP Challenger Series and ITF Women’s Circuit. It was replaced in 2009 by the Aegon Trophy in Nottingham. The event returned to the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Women’s Circuit in 2015. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was cancelled in 2020 and 2021, but resumed in 2022. Jim Thomas holds the doubles record with four titles, and Kristina Brandi holds the singles record with three titles, including back-to-back victories.
The Surbiton Trophy kicks off the annual three-week grass-court swing in the United Kingdom. Surbiton Racket & Fitness Club, located just outside of London, hosts the Challenger 125-level event. Former Top 10 stars Mardy Fish (2006) and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (2007) have won in Surbiton, and Lleyton Hewitt and Roger Federer played their first professional grass-court matches there in 1998 and 1999, respectively.
The 2023 ATP Surbiton Trophy will have five rounds of play excluding the qualifying rounds. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals.
