The Los Cabos Open is a professional men’s tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It is part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. It is held annually in August in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The 2022 Los Cabos Open, also known as the Abierto de Tenis Mifel for sponsorship reasons, is an ATP tennis tournament to be played on outdoor hard courts. It is the 6th edition of the tournament, and part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the 2022 ATP Tour. It will take place in Los Cabos, Mexico from 1 through 6 August 2022.
Henri Laaksonen is the clear favorite to win this based only on skill. In 2022, the Swiss athlete hasn’t been in fantastic shape. He has, however, spent the previous four to five years in or around the top 100. In comparison, Purcell has only ever ended a tennis season inside the top 200. Given that hard courts are his favored surface, the Australian will like the fact that this match will be played there. Laaksonen has won multiple Challenger Tour championships on hard courts, so he’s no pushover on the outside. Expect that Purcell will lose this one to the Swiss.
