The Aussie defeated the likes of Filip Krajinovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas en route to his best ever result at Wimbledon.
Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios will begin his 2022 Citi Open campaign with a round of 64 tie against unseeded American player and home favourite Marcos Giron. Kyrgios has been in exceptional form, especially coming into the mid-way point of the season. He went all the way to the final of Wimbledon earlier in the year but was defeated by top seed Novak Djokovic. The Aussie defeated the likes of Filip Krajinovic and Stefanos Tsitsipas en route to his best ever result at the grass court Grand Slam. It should be a simple victory for Kyrgios against Giron on paper.
Marcos Giron has not had the best of seasons so far. The American has failed to go deep into any competition, with the exception of the Mallorca Open, in recent history. At Wimbledon, Giron defeated 24th seed Holger Rune in the first round but was defeated by Alex Molcan in the second. He was ousted in the first round of the Atlanta Open by Soon-Woo Kwon.
Andy Murray and Mikael Ymer are scheduled to face one another on Tuesday, August 2 in the round of 64 of the 2022 Citi Open. The timing of the match has not been confirmed by the organizers of the competition yet.
