Sebastian Korda and Alex de Minaur are scheduled to take on one another in the first round of the 2022 Paris Masters on Tuesday, November 1.
Thanks to his efforts on indoor hard courts, Sebastian Korda‘s 2022 looks a lot better now than it did a few months ago. Last month, he reached the Metz quarterfinals and then played championship matches in Gijon and Antwerp, where he lost in straight sets to Andrey Rublev and Felix Auger Aliassime, respectively. Given his struggles with injury and bad luck in the first half, these results will do wonders for the American’s confidence. He blew chances against Cameron Norrie, Rafael Nadal, and Frances Tiafoe earlier this year and was forced to withdraw from Wimbledon owing to injuries.
Unlike Sebastian Korda, Alex de Minaur has been consistent across all surfaces this season, and his efforts were rewarded with his sixth ATP victory three months ago in Atlanta. The Australian reached at least the quarterfinals in two of the three indoor competitions he competed in this year, and all three of his surface losses came against eventual finalists Stefanos Tsitsipas in Rotterdam and Holger Rune in Stockholm and Basel. World #25 was eliminated in the first round of the Paris Masters 12 months ago by compatriot Alexei Popyrin, and he enters this match with a 2-2 record at this point of the event.
Sebastian Korda and Alex de Minaur are scheduled to take on one another in the first round of the 2022 Paris Masters on Tuesday, November 1. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 6, 2022.
