Alexander Bublik and Mikael Ymer are scheduled to take on one another in the first round of the 2022 Paris Masters on Monday, October 31.
Alexander Bublik has won at least one match in each of his previous five events, reaching the quarterfinals in both Florence and Basel, where he was defeated by eventual runner-up Jeffrey John Wolf and eventual champion Felix Auger Aliassime, respectively. The big-serving Kazakh has been an erratic performance throughout his career, and he has been disappointing in 2022 as well. However, he had a few good weeks over these ten months, including a title-winning performance in Montpellier and runner-up finishes in Newport and Metz, which helped him reach his top ranking of #30.
Mikael Ymer has won 30 matches in 2022, with 14 of them (14/7) coming on indoor hard courts. On the surface, his significant successes include reaching the semifinals in Montpellier and Florence (as a qualifier), as well as the quarterfinals in Metz and Stockholm. In the last two days, the gifted Swede cleared difficult tests against Constant Lestienne (retired) and Jiri Lehecka in the qualifying stages of the Paris Masters. He made it through the qualifying here in 2021, but couldn’t get past Karen Khachanov in the first round.
Alexander Bublik and Mikael Ymer are scheduled to take on one another in the first round of the 2022 Paris Masters on Monday, October 31. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 6, 2022.
