Marc-Andrea Huesler and Karen Khachanov will take on one another in the second round of the 2022 Paris Masters on Wednesday, November 2.
Jannik Sinner wasn’t in the ideal physical (knee injury) or mental (missing the ATP Finals) shape coming into this week, and Marc-Andrea Huesler took full advantage of the situation to win in straight sets, 6-2 6-3. Over the weekend, he faced tougher opponents in the qualifying stages, including Hugo Gaston (6-3 3-6 7-6) and Laslo Djere (7-6 7-5). This was the big-serving Swiss’ third top-20 victory of his career, and his second in 40 days. During his title-winning campaign in Sofia, he upset Pablo Carreno Busta early on.
Karen Khachanov, who has yet to win a championship this year, overpowered incumbent ATP Estoril winner Sebastian Baez in the first round and will meet another ATP title holder in 2022. The former Russian number one’s most recent title-winning season occurred at the Paris Masters in 2018, when he defeated Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem, and Novak Djokovic in straight sets in consecutive matches.
Karen Khachanov and Marc-Andrea Huesler are scheduled to take on one another in the second round of the 2022 Paris Masters on Wednesday, November 2. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 31 to November 6, 2022.
The ATP Paris Masters 2022 will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 31, 2022 and conclude on November 6, 2022.
