Miomir Kecmanovic’s outstanding season continued as the Serb advanced to his sixth quarterfinal of the season with a straight sets victory against Jordan Thompson in the second round of the Los Cabos Open. The fourth seed, playing for the first time since losing to Novak Djokovic in the third round of Wimbledon, needed only an hour and 13 minutes to beat the Aussie 6-4, 6-2. The 2020 Kitzbuhel winner also reached the quarterfinals at Indian Wells and Miami, as well as the last eight in Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Belgrade, and Munich. He only advanced past the quarterfinals once, and that was in Munich, when he lost in the semifinals.

Brandon Nakashima is also enjoying a very strong season, and it got even better for the 20-year-old on Wednesday as he advanced to the quarterfinals of the Los Cabos Open with a straight sets triumph against Australia’s Max Purcell. The World No. 61, who made his tour debut by reaching the final in Los Cabos last year, required one hour and 17 minutes to overcome the Australian 6-3, 6-3 in the second round on Wednesday. The 20-year-old had his greatest Grand Slam success this year by reaching the fourth round at Wimbledon. He improved his season record to 19-12 with the two wins. He will compete in his fourth quarterfinal match of the season.

Miomir Kecmanovic and Brandon Nakashima will take on each other on Friday August 5th in the quarterfinal round of the 2022 Los Cabos open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 30 and conclude on August 6 this year.
