Miomir Kecmanovic and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina will take on one another in the first round of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors October 25.
Miomir Kecmanovic is coming off a strong week in Napoli, where he reached the semi-finals before losing in two sets to Lorenzo Musetti. The Serbian had a fantastic start to the season, kicking off what many expected to be a major breakout year. Although he did not achieve his goal, he established himself as one of the top 50 players on the ATP tour. So far, the Serbian has a 39-24 record, but this will be his first indoor competition. He played some indoor matches earlier in the Davis Cup and did well, despite having a mixed career record indoors. Nothing special with only 20 wins and 19 losses. He’s far better outside, but if given a chance, he can play well enough to beat solid players.Â
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has only played two events since the US Open and has yet to win. His last one was at the US Open, and since then he’s lost to Matteo Berrettini at the US Open, Pavel Kotov in Astana, and Andy Murray in Gijon. His inability to play consistent tennis plagued the majority of his matches. He’s one of those players who, like Fognini and Bublik, you never know what you’re going to get. His preferred surface is clay, and you can always expect a strong effort there, but not so much on other surfaces. He is capable of playing both offensive and defensive tennis.
Miomir Kecmanovic and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina are scheduled to take on one another in the first round of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on Tuesday, October 25. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 23 to October 30, 2022.
The ATP Swiss Indoors will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
