Aslan Karatsev and Dusan Lajovic will take on each other on Wednesday, July 27 in the round of 16 of the 2022 Generali Open.
Fourth seed Aslan Karatsev will face unseeded Serbian player Dusan Lajovic in the round of 16 of the 2022 Generali Open. It will be the Russian’s first match in the competition as he hopes to make an impact after failing to participate at the Wimbledon Championships earlier this year. Karatsev’s last two competitions saw him knocked out in the quarter-finals. The 28-year-old was beaten by Federico Cerundolo at both the Swedish Open and the Hamburg European Open.
Dusan Lajovic has already played one match in Kitzbuhel and emerged victorious by a relatively comfortable margin. In the first round of the tournament, the Serbian defeated 25-year-old Vitaliy Sachko by a score of 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) to make it through to the round of 16. Lajovic’s last tournament was the German Open where he was defeated by Lorenzo Musetti in the round of 32.
