The final of the 2022 Wimbledon Juniors girls’ singles event will be played between top seed Liv Hovde and seventh seed Luca Udvardy. Hovde, an American tennis upstart, recorded a comfortable victory in the semi-final against Canadian player Victoria Mboko to make it through to the last two of the competition. The score-line at the end of tie was 6-4, 6-3 in the American’s favour. Hovde has defeated the likes of Kayla Cross, Ella Seidel, Ana Candiotto and Anastasiya Lopata en route to the final. Hungarian tennis player Luca Udvardy had a slightly difficult test in the semis. The seventh seed beat Linda Klimovicova 6-3, 3-6, 6-0 to book her place alongside Hovde. The Hungarian has beaten the likes of Nikola Bartunkova, Annabelle Xu, Alexis Blokhina and Daniela Piani in the competition so far.
Liv Hovde and Luca Udvardy are scheduled to face each other on Saturday, July 9 in the girls’ singles final of the 2022 Wimbledon Junior Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championship is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10.
