Beginning on August 22, the women's singles competition at the Granby National Bank Championships will enter its tenth year. For the first time since 2019, the competition will take place.
Granby, Quebec hosts the Granby National Bank Championships, a WTA 250 competition. It first began in 2011 and continued till 2019. In 2020 and 2021, the competition was cancelled owing to the coronavirus epidemic. No woman has ever won the Granby National Bank Championships more than once, with Eugenie Bouchard in 2012 and Johanna Konta in 2015 being the most notable champions. Lizette Cabrera of Australia won the competition in 2019 after defeating Leylah Fernandez in the championship match. Club de tennis des Loisirs de Granby in Granby, Quebec, is the location of the competition.
The top seed in the Granby National Bank Championships this year will be Daria Kasatkina, who is ranked 10th in the world. Second-seeded Alison van Uytvanck of Belgium will be motivated to perform well in Granby, just like Jasmine Paolini, Anna Bondar, Nuria Parrizas-Diaz, and Lucia Bronzetti. Others, such Marta Kostyuk, Daria Saville, and Tatjana Maria, are also capable of succeeding in the competition.
The 2022 Granby Open will see six rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These include the round of 64, round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final for women’s. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 22 and conclude on August 27 this year.
