Marcos Giron’s 2022 statistics (20/27) might be a little misleading because he is now having a much stronger season than they indicate. In the first half of the season, he achieved three quarterfinal (or better) finishes. Most recently, he came in second place in San Diego, which was his best performance on the main tour. Despite making his debut in 2004 and having won over 650 matches on all other surfaces, the seasoned Spaniard is now on a nine-match losing run on indoor hard courts that began in 2018. He has also only won 21 matches on the surface overall in his career.
