Oscar Otte and Marton Fucsovics will take on each other in the round of 32 of the 2022 ATP Firenze Open on Tuesday, October 11.
Oscar Otte’s excellent form and momentum were stopped a few months ago by a knee injury, and he has since experienced too many difficult and humiliating losses after recovering from knee surgery at the US Open. The German has lost seven of his previous eight matches overall, but he has won the opening set in three of those matches, including the last two, against Marin Cilic and Kamil Majchrzak, respectively, in Sofia’s second round and Astana’s first round, last week.
Marton Fucsovics, who has recently struggled with his fitness, finished 2022 with a losing record (21/22). In these ten months, he has retired three times, and just four times in tour-level competitions this year has he been able to win back-to-back main-draw matches. The Hungarian No. 1 has plummeted to #91 in the most recent rankings and is in danger of leaving the top 100 for the first time since 2017 due to his inability to protect some significant points in the early 2022 season and his inability to make up the Wimbledon quarterfinal points.
Oscar Otte and Marton Fucsovics are scheduled to face each other in the round of 32 of the 2022 ATP Firenze Open on Tuesday, October 11. The tournament is scheduled to begin on October 10 and end on October 16.
The ATP Firenze Open will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 10, 2022 and conclude on October 16, 2022.
