The no 1 seeded player Sofia Costoulas has a very positive start in this competition . In the first round she defeated Lucciana Perez Alarcon in straight 6-2, 6-0 without even breaking a sweat. In round 2 where she faced Valerie Glozman, she lost the first set but despite that she turn the situation and made a comeback by winning the match in three set 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Her opponent Mirra Andreeva of Russia defeated Ella McDonald of United Kingdom in three set match 7-5 , 3-6, 3-6.
Sofia Costoulas and Mirra Andreeva are scheduled to face each other on Wednesday, September 7 in the round of 16 of the 2022 US Open juniors. The fourth and final Grand Slam of the season began on August 29 and will go on until September 11.
