The top WTA stars are all scheduled to return to competitive play fairly soon, so the tennis activity doesn’t end after the Australian Open. There are many significant tournaments taking place in February that might offer fans some exciting matchups. The WTA 500 Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open (February 6–12), WTA 500 Qatar Totalenergies Open (February 13–18), and WTA 1000 Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships are the three Middle Eastern competitions that take centre stage (February 19-25). The biggest female talents, including Iga Swiatek, the world’s best, as well as the up-and-comers Coco Gauff and Emma Raducanu, will all be on display in February. WTA action in Doha

Nine of the top 10 players in the world will compete in Doha, where Iga Swiatek will be leading a star-studded field. At this important competition, which will begin on February 13, World No. 6 Coco Gauff will compete for the championship as well. Both will return after experiencing success in the last round. Gauff and Jessica Pegula won the doubles prize while the Pole won the singles competition. This season, Swiatek has fallen short of expectations thus far. She lost to Jelena Ostapenko in the fourth round, unable to duplicate her performance at the season’s first Major. Gauff will be eager to resume his winning ways in the Middle East as well.

Raducanu head Austin

Meanwhile, Emma Raducanu has agreed to compete in the first ATX Open, which will start on February 27 at Westwood Country Club in Austin, Texas. Danielle Collins and Sloane Stephens, among others, are among the local favourites who will pose a stiff challenge to the 2021 US Open champion.
