The Los Cabos Open is a professional men’s tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It is part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Tour. It is held annually in August in Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico. The 2022 Los Cabos Open, also known as the Abierto de Tenis Mifel for sponsorship reasons, is an ATP tennis tournament to be played on outdoor hard courts. It is the 6th edition of the tournament, and part of the ATP Tour 250 series of the 2022 ATP Tour. It will take place in Los Cabos, Mexico from 1 through 6 August 2022.
Chun-Hsin Tseng won the junior Wimbledon and French Open in 2018 and was widely expected to play well on the ATP Tour. Tseng took a few years to get rolling, but he is currently ranked among the top 100 in the world. With a strong showing at Los Cabos, the former junior #1 hopes to continue his upward trend. Nick Chappell, his opponent, has never ended a year ranked lower than #374. In addition, the American has no singles titles at the ITF or above level. As a result, it’s fair to assume Tseng is a cut above Chappell here, and the result should be a one-sided affair come Monday.
