On Tuesday, the 2022 ATP Hamburg Open's fourth seed Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain plays Italian Luca Nardi in the opening round.
Last week in Bastad, Pablo Carreno Busta made his tennis comeback and performed admirably. In the semifinal run, Francisco Cerundolo showed he was far superior. I was a little surprised by his loss considering how easy he was blown off the floor. Even though it seems a little better on paper now that Cerundolo has lifted the championship, Busta had a fantastic week. He will arrive in Hamburg, where he performed well the previous year, with confidence. Busta eventually won the trophy, and this year he’ll strive to repeat the feat, although it will be challenging given the competitive competition. He plays best in Hamburg, and this year, with a final score of 21-16, he has performed admirably. Clay’s final score was 10-8, which is acceptable but he also had some really bad plays.
To enter the main draw, Luca Nardi had to compete in the qualifiers, and the young Italian aced the challenge. The Italian player has recently experienced something of a breakout on the challenger level because to his steadily improving skills. It’s largely about confidence when you’re a young player, and his is developing at an amazing rate. Since he already ranks among the top 200, it’s not difficult for him to think that he could break into the top 100 with a few impressive performances on the challenger Tour. He’ll be put to the test well by Carreno-Busta, and if he succeeds, watch out.
Pablo Carreno Busta and Luca Nardi will take on each other on Tuesday, July 19 in the first round of the 2022 ATP Hamburg European open. The competition is scheduled to commence on July 18 and conclude on July 24 this year.
