Adrian Mannarino and Botic Van De Zandschulp are scheduled to face each other in the first round of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on October 25.
Nearly 18 years after making his professional debut, Adrian Mannarino was named the new French No. 1. However, he couldn’t hold onto the title for more than a week as he fell a few spots in the ATP rankings and eventually lost it to Gael Monfils after losing to the clay-court specialist Pedro Cachin in the first round of the Napoli Open last week. Gael Monfils is now not playing on tour, therefore the 34-year-old will retake the title the next week; in fact, he has moved ahead of his countryman in the live rankings.
During this portion of the 2021 season, Botic Van De Zandschulp earned a significant number of ranking points on indoor hard courts, but his current play hasn’t come close to matching those accomplishments. With two of those defeats coming against underdogs Liam Broady in Tel Aviv and Dominic Stricker in Antwerp, he dropped three of his previous five surface encounters. The top-ranked Dutchman is comfortably seated at #35 in the rankings thanks to his constant efforts in the first half and one significant result in Winston Salem (SF) in the second half, despite failing to win more than one match in eight out of nine tournaments so far in the second half.
Adrian Mannarino and Botic Van De Zandschulp are scheduled to take on one another in the first round of the 2022 ATP Swiss Indoors on Tuesday, October 25. The tournament is scheduled to be held from October 23 to October 30, 2022.
The ATP Swiss Indoors will have five rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These are the round of 32, round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final. The competition’s main draw is set to commence on October 24, 2022 and conclude on October 30, 2022.
