The first six games Nikoloz Basilashvili played in the 2022 season were losses, and he has now gone winless in six games. Zizou Bergs qualified for the main draw in Metz this week, putting his Davis Cup setback (0-2 in singles) behind him. The Belgian, who just entered the competition, prevailed against Gijs Brouwer and Daniel Masur in the qualifying rounds. The gifted 23-year-old first distinguished himself at the highest level in an indoor competition in Antwerp two years ago. He then followed it up by winning 21 matches on the surface in 2021 and 13 so far in 2022.
