Inter Milan have finalised the signing of full-back Robin Gosens from Atalanta and according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 27-year-old will undergo his medical with the Nerazzurri on Wednesday. The German international is set to join Inter on loan with an obligation to buy for 25-27 million euro, including add-ons. He has rejected an offer from Newcastle United, the Premier League strugglers had reportedly offered a 3.5 million euro-a-year deal, but Gosens opted to sign for the Serie A champions, a deal worth 3 million euro-a-year.

Inter have been moving quickly to bring in Gosens. Tuesday’s meeting in Milan between Inter’s chiefs and Atalanta CEO Luca Percassi unlocked the deal and Gosens is now ready to join Inter. He is now currently out of action with a thigh injury and played his last Serie A match on September 25 and has only made eight appearances across all competitions this season.

The Germany international has been one of the best full-backs in Serie A over the last few seasons. Gosens, Achraf Hakimi and Theo Hernandez are the only defenders to have contributed to at least nine goals in the opening 21 Serie A games in the last 15 years.

Meanwhile it needs to be seen what Inter Milan will do with Ivan Perisic’s situation with the 32-year-old ‘s current deal expiring at the end of June. However, according to Sky, the club are not feeling any pressure to renew with him unless he drops his salary demands, now that they have a successor in place.
