Elon Musk stated on Saturday that if the mixed martial arts cage battle he has provoked with fellow billionaire media mogul Mark Zuckerberg goes the place, he would begin training. Musk, the owner of Twitter, tweeted on Tuesday that he was interested in a cage bout in Las Vegas with Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook parent Meta (META.O), who has trained in jiu-jitsu.

“I haven’t started training yet. So if this does happen, I will,” Musk stated this during a Twitter conversation with Ashlee Vance, the author of a book on Musk and the space race.

According to Reuters, Musk stated that the match “might actually happen” while attending a birthday celebration in Europe, but that it might go wrong if Zuckerberg takes the match seriously.

What began as a friendly conversation has escalated into a full-fledged physical brawl. The president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Dana White, has revealed that internet billionaires Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk are “dead serious” about their forthcoming “cage fight.”

According to White, he has had personal talks with both Zuckerberg and Musk, and both are completely committed to entering the fray.

Mark Zuckerberg agrees to a cage fight

Musk and Zuckerberg appeared to have agreed last week to resolve their feud with a cage battle in Nevada. Musk responded to a Twitter thread criticizing Zuckerberg’s newfound fondness for jiu-jitsu, which he had been sharing on Instagram, with “I’m up for a cage match if he is” in an exchange.

Zuckerberg responded on Instagram with an image of Musk’s post and the caption “Send Me Location.” Zuckerberg, as the owner of Meta, also controls Instagram and Facebook. Musk responded to Zuckerberg’s remark with the phrase “Vegas Octagon.” The Octagon is the fenced-in enclosure and competition mat used for Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fights.

Meanwhile, Zuckerberg, 39, has started practicing mixed martial arts (MMA) and has lately won jiu-jitsu competitions. In May, he competed in his first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) event and won two medals, one gold and one silver.

“Competed in my first jiu-jitsu tournament and won some medals for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team,” the software mogul said on Facebook.
