The next UFC Fight Night event at The Apex in Las Vegas on July 15 has a new headliner. Holly Holm, the former UFC women’s 135-pound champion, and Mayra Bueno Silva will face off this summer, with Holm replacing Miesha Tate when she suffered a hand injury. The MMA Hour first the story on Wednesday, and it was later verified by several publications.

Holm (15-6, 8-6 UFC) is eager to add to her reputation with another victory. “The Preacher’s Daughter” is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Yana Santos at UFC on ESPN 43, where she avenged a split-decision defeat to Ketlen Vieira in May 2022. Previously, the Jackson-Wink MMA fighter defeated Irene Aldana and Raquel Pennington.

Bueno Silva (10-2-1, 5-2-1 UFC), a Dana White Contender Series graduate, is on a three-fight winning run after defeating Yanan Wu, Stephanie Egger, and Lina Lansberg.

Silva was awarded the Performance of the Night bonus for his win. During an episode of The MMA Hour, Ariel Helwani announced the main event.

Initially, late last month, rumors surfaced describing how a welterweight bout between Rafael dos Anjos, the former undisputed lightweight champion, and division challenger Vicente Luque had both been scheduled to take main event status on the yet-to-be-announced July 15.
