Phase one of the Pro Kabaddi League got underway on October 7, 2022, at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. Season nine of the league will be played in three phases. Pune’s Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex and Hyderabad are the venues where the second and third phases will be staged. Delhi defeated Patna Pirates in the season 8 PKL final to win the championship the previous season with a thrilling 37-36 victory.
Telugu Titans will be up against Puneri Paltan on October 18, 2022, in the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9. In their last encounter, Telugu was brutally thrashed by the table toppers Dabang Delhi KC 46-26. On the other hand, the Paltans produced a victory against U Mumba in a close contest by 30-28 in their previous game. Although they have just managed to win one of their games, all the matches were very sharply contested except the one against Gujarat Giants where they lost by a margin of 10. Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans are currently placed ninth and eleventh in the points table.
