Rahul Tripathi (71) and Aiden Markram (68) showed their class with the bat to guide SRH to 176/3 in 17.5 overs and chase down the target with seven wickets in hand in the IPL 2022 clash against KKR at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on Friday.

Chasing a challenging target, SRH openers Abhishek Sharma (3) and Kane Williamson (17), failed to continue giving their start a strong start at top of the order.

However, it looked like a walk in the park for SRH, from there on as Tripathi and Markram forged a match-winning 93 runs stand for the third wicket to change the momentum.

Tripathi hit some effortless sixes in his fine knock off 37 deliveries to prove his class while Markram well complimented him with an unbeaten innings off 36 deliveries which was laced with six boundaries and four hits over the top.

For KKR, Andre Russell, was the pick of the bowlers as he returned figures of 2/20.

Nitish Rana-Andre Russell firework at display

Nitish Rana (54) and Andre Russell (49 not out) played brilliant individual knocks to guide KKR to 175/8.

Asked to bat, KKR lost their openers Venkatesh Iyer (6) and Aaron Finch (7), in quick succession.
Incoming batter and captain Shreyas Iyer (28), however, tried to stabalize the run scoring rate with his 25-ball knock which included three boundaries but failed to find enough support in floater batter Sunil Narine (6) who was sent packing early.

Rana took seven innings to score his first IPL 2022 half-century. But his 36-ball knock came right in time to save KKR from the blushes. He forged an important partnership of 39 runs for the sixth wicket with West Indies power hitter Russell and hit six boundaries and two hits over the fence in his innings.

Wicket keeper-batter Sheldon Jackson (7) failed to get going with the bat as a mistimed shot saw him return back to the pavilion. But Russell ensured that he batted throughout the innings to guide KKR to a challenging total.

The all-rounder smashed four boundaries and as many sixes in his unbeaten knock of 25 deliveries.

T Natarajan shines with the ball

India fast bowler T Nataraj bowled a tight length to do some early damage and pick up three wickets for 37 runs — the most by a SRH bowler — with Jammu & Kashmir express Umran Malik scalping two wickets.
