Virat Kohli is a hard competitor on the field who hardly gives an inch. He might be having a torrid time with the bat but that his natural aggression to win a game and give his cent per cent still remains the same. And a testament to that was evident through an incident which took place during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune on Wednesday.

CSK captain MS Dhoni was dismissed in the penultimate over while he tried to clear the mid-wicket off a delivery from RCB fast bowler Josh Hazlewood. His mis-timed shot went straight into the hands of Rajat Patidar with Dhoni returning for two runs off three deliveries. The dismissal charged up Kohli who celebrated in an animated fashion and seemingly used a foul language.
The incident did not go do down well with the fans and drew criticism towards Kohli for crossing the line and not maintaining the spirit of cricket. One of the fans tweeted, “Unacceptable, He is literally abusing Indian army personnel Ms Dhoni” while the other said, “As a Virat Kohli fan, this behaviour is unexpected from him. He could’ve celebrated the wicket by not using this foul language. On the field, behaviour matters in the game of cricket.”
