The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has moved towards its business end with the final set of league encounters, followed by the playoffs and the final in store.  The IPL 2022 has stood out to be an exciting season with 10 teams battling it out for the big prize. However, the TV ratings for the official broadcasters which saw a major dip, has been a major concern in the ongoing season. But it might see some recovery with the Board of Control For Cricket in India (BCCI) — the parent body of the lucrative tournament — opting to go ahead with the closing ceremony.

IPL 2022 Closing Ceremony: When and where will it be held?

The IPL 2022 closing ceremony is supposed to be a star-studded event to bring in the end of another successful season. BCCI has appointed TCM Platform as the agency that will plan and conceptualize the event. The IPL 2022 closing ceremony will take place at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 29th May 2022 ahead of the final match. 

“It is indeed an honour and a privilege to be given this mandate in this very special year. Cricket is deeply embedded in the fabric of our nation and creatively we bring the celebration of 75 years of India’s independence and the history of our cricketing achievements together. This is also the year that two new teams have joined the league – truly representative of the diversity of the nation with a singular passion for cricket” said Chanda Singh, Director, TCM Platform.

IPL 2022 Closing Ceremony: When and where to watch?

The IPL 2022 closing ceremony will be broadcast live on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 3, and Star Sports 3 HD channels in India. Live streaming of IPL 2021 will be available vs Mon the Disney+ Hotstar, Jio TV, and, Airtel TV in India. The entire IPL tournament will be broadcast live in regional languages on Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1 Hindi HD, Star Sports 1 Tamil, Star Sports 1 Telugu, Star Sports 1 Kannada, and Star Sports 1 Bangla. Other regional language platforms apart from these include Star Sports 1 Marathi, Star Sports 1 Malayalam, Suvarna Plus (Kannada), Jalsha Movies (Bengali), Maa Movies (Telegu), Star Pravah HD (Marathi), Star Gold, Star Gold HD, Vijay Super SD, Asianet Plus (Sunday matches).

IPL 2022 Closing Ceremony: Who are on the performers list?

The IPL 2022 closing ceremony will witness performances from Oscar winning composer A.R Rahman and Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh. The duo will be the highlight of the 30 minutes show with dance sequences choreographed by Shiamak Davar. “We have mapped every second of our thirty minute event to entertain, enthral, delight and pay tribute to the country, to the game that we are so passionate about and to the legends that define its history.” Said Ria Agnihotri, Project lead of the Ceremony.
