Born on April 19, 2001, Micky van de Ven is a professional Dutch footballer who plays as a center-back for the Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur and Netherlands national team. Van de Ven was crazy about football from a very young age and started his career with Volendam, where he initially faced the possibility of leaving the club just after joining them. However, a change in management under Wim Jonk led to a contract offer to van de Ven, and within just six months, he secured a regular starting position in the first team.

During his time at Volendam, he made 48 appearances across two seasons and even served as the team’s captain. In 2021, Van de Ven made a transfer to the German club VfL Wolfsburg for a transfer fee of 3.15 million pounds. He made a total of 41 appearances for VfL Wolfsburg. On August 8, 2023, van de Ven had signed a lucrative six-year contract with the English club Tottenham Hotspur. The reported fee for this transfer was approximately 50 million euros, nearly matching the club’s previous record-breaking fee for a center-back, which was paid for Cristian Romero the year before.

Van de Ven marked his debut for Tottenham on August 13, participating in their first match of the 2023-24 Premier League season as a starter against Brentford. In October 2022, van de Ven’s talent was recognized as he was included in the preliminary squad for the Netherlands national team in preparation for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Additionally, he demonstrated his leadership skills by captaining the under-21 team during the European Championship. However, he is yet to make his debut for the senior team.
