Dan Burn, born on May 9, 1992, is an English professional footballer who plays as a left-back or center-back for the Premier League side Newcastle United, where he’s recognized as one of the tallest defenders in the league. Burn’s career began at Darlington in 2009, but he later joined Fulham after 19 appearances with Darlington. During this time, he also went on loan spells with Yeovil Town and Birmingham City. Following the end of the 2015–16 season, Burn made a move to Wigan Athletic. Subsequently, he signed a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion before the start of the 2018–19 season. His time with Brighton saw him establish himself as a consistent presence in the Premier League before he fulfilled his childhood dream of joining Newcastle United in January 2022.

Growing up, Burn was an huge supporter of Newcastle United and held a deep admiration for Alan Shearer. Although Newcastle United released him at the age of 11, Burn’s talent caught the eye of Darlington scouts while he was playing for local teams such as New Hartley, Blyth Town, and Blyth Spartans. This led to his first professional contract with Darlington on July 1, 2009.
