Real Madrid will host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last-16 second leg fixture at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday. The Los Blancos will need to overturn a 1-0 deficit after their loss in Paris courtesy of Kylian Mbappe’s goal. But the La Liga giants will have to do it without Casemiro and Ferland Mendy, who are suspended, having picked up a yellow card three weeks earlier. PSG forward Neyamr feels that Casemiro “is the best player in the world in his position”.

Neymar was speaking to the media ahead of the clash against the Los Blancos. The Brazilian said: “We know that we face a very good side that has players of real quality. But we too have players of great quality and won’t be standing off and will do all we can to win the game”.

Casemiro came into Paris having already collected two yellow cards and received his third mid-way through the first half when he fouled Leandro Paredes.

Neymar added: “It won’t be easy because Madrid have players with real quality, but for me Casemiro is the best player in the world in his position and Madrid will miss him.

“We don’t care about that, we’ve got to go out there and win the game. It’ll be more difficult for them because they’re used to playing with Casemiro and it’s better for me that he won’t play”.

When asked about playing in Bernabeu, the 30-year-old said: “I’ve got a lot of good memories. I’ve scored goals, provided assists and put in some excellent performances. It’s a stadium with an incredible history and to play here is a pleasure, not only for me, but for everyone who comes and plays here. Tomorrow night will be special.”

PSG had an excellent game in the first leg as they pressed higher up the pitch and didn’t allow Real Madrid to register even a single shot on target. Meanwhile the Parisians could have easily taken a two or three goal lead if not for the woodwork and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
