Girona, meanwhile, secured a 2-1 victory against Real Valladolid in a Spanish top flight match last Saturday. Betis have made an impressive start to their 2022-23 League campaign, heaving registered four wins and one draw so far. In their last league match against Villarreal on Sunday, the Greens secured a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of Rodri’s 61st-minute goal. After that, Manuel Pellegrini’s side got the better of Bulgarian outfit Ludogorets in a Group C match of the Europa League on Thursday. Luis Henrique, Joaquin and Sergio Canales netted for Betis to secure the win and make it two wins from as many games in the Europa League this term.
Girona, on the other hand, have made a mixed start to the season, having recorded two wins, one draw and two defeats. In the match against Valladolid, Renier Jesus put the Red and Whites in front inside the opening 21 minutes, before Monchu leveled the score for the visitors, seven minutes before the break. Just when it looked like the points might be shared, Oriol Romeu scored an 88th-minute winner for Girona.

Real Betis players Victor Camarasa, Nabil Fekir, Juanmi Youssouf, Sabaly and Victor Ruiz are nursing injuries. Iglesias is likely to lead the line with Henrique, Canales and Rodri in support. Rodriguez and Carvalho might sit in front of the back-four. As for Girona, Borja Garcia, Cristhian Stuani and Ibrahima Kebe are sidelined with injuries.
