Aris, on the other hand, are occupying second spot in the Cypriot First Division standings, collecting 23 points from 10 league matches, level on points with leaders APOEL. Light Brigade secured their seventh league win of the season against Nea Salamis last time out thanks to Yannick Gomis’ second-half brace. Meanwhile, when it comes to the Europa League, Aris started their group stage campaign with a 3-2 defeat to Sparta Prague, before getting the better of Rangers 2-1 on October 4 courtesy of goals from Alex Moucketou-Moussounda and Shavy Babicka. Although Aleksey Shpilevsky’s men lost their third game week of the group to Betis, they have proven to be competitive in every match that they have had, and will be hoping to close the gap with the leaders.
