Panama will square off against Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final fixture at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Thursday night. The two nations secured top spots in their respective groups in League A to progress to the last four stage and now will fight it out with each other to earn the right to play either USA or Mexico in the showdown on Sunday. Panama are heading into the match on the back of a thrilling 3-2 win against Nicaragua in a friendly last Saturday, while the Canucks’ last action was back in March when they thrashed Honduras 4-1 in their final Group C fixture of the Nations League.

Panama had the perfect preparation for the semi-finals clash, as they twice came from behind to secure the win against Nicaragua last Sunday at Estadio Universitario. Michael Murillo scored a second-half brace to make the score 2-2 before Roderick Miller netted the winner six minutes from time. Meanwhile, when it comes to the Nations League, Thomas Christiansen’s men were brilliant, recording three wins and a draw from four games to pocket 10 points, four clear of second-placed Costa Rica. Los Canaleros secured a narrow 1-0 win over Costa Rica in their final group-match on March 28 thanks to Jose Fajarado’s 77th-minute effort.
Canada, on the other hand, reached the last four stage of the Nations League by taking nine points from their four games, three points ahead of second-placed Honduras. The Canucks began their Nations League campaign with a dominant 4-0 win against Curacao last June but then suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Honduras in their second and final fixture before the World Cup in Qatar, where John Herdman’s men couldn’t progress to the knockout rounds, losing all three of their group-fixtures, but it was a very good learning curve as they are set to host the global event along with USA and Mexico in 2026.. Meanwhile, Canada returned to continental duties in March, securing back-to-back wins against Curacao and Honduras, scoring six goals and conceding just one in the process.
Panama probable starting lineup: Samudio, Martinez, Miller, Blackman, Murillo, Yanis, Gondola, Welch, Davis, Waterman, Rodriguez
