Sivasspor have lost all three of their matches since the Turkish clubs resumed the season after the devastating earthquakes in the region. This Sunday, the Braves were thrashed 3-0 by Istamnbulspor in Esenyurt in the Turkish top flight, courtesy of goals from Valon Ethemi, Demeaco Duhaney and Jason Lokilo. The Sivas-based club are languishing at the 15th spot in the Turkish Super Lig standings, having collected just 24 points from as many games, level on points with 16th-placed Istanbulspor in the drop zone.
Fiorentina, on the other hand, are in stunning form, having recorded six wins and one draw from their last seven fixtures across all competitions. Last time out, Viola defeated Cremonese 2-0 in the Serie A, thanks to Rolando Mandragora’s opener mid-way through the first-half and a 50th-minute effort by Arthur Cabral. It was their fifth successive win in all competitions. The impressive run of form has helped the Violets to move into ninth position in the Italian top flight standings, having collected 34 points from 26 games.
Sivasspor winger Gradel will be suspended for thursday’s fixture because of the red card he picked up last week. Robin Yalcin and Caner Osmanpasa are sidelined with injuries. As for Fiorentina, full-back Cristiano Biraghi will not be available for the game in Turkey because of a yellow card suspension, while Aleksa Terzic is nursing an injury. Ikone, Jovic and Gonzalez might form the attacking-trio.
