The game of the Premier League weekend will undoubtedly take place at Etihad Stadium between Manchester City and Liverpool. The world eyes will be on Manchester this week for what promises to be an intriguing battle. Both teams are in good run of form. They have started the season well and are looking at their best. Even though it might be too early to label it a potential title battle, this match could impact in what direction the title race might swing this season.

Ahead of the all-important Premier League contest against Manchester City, Liverpool full-back Kostas Tsimikas explained how the Reds could approach the game. “Especially in home games, they are very, very strong. But we are Liverpool. We will go there to play our football, to give absolutely everything and to win the game. I think that’s the only thing that matters in these kind of games – to take the three points. We will go there to fight hard and to try to win the game. Anything can happen in this game. I think it’s two of the best teams in the world right now,” Tsimikas told Liverpoolfc.com.

He added: “I think the only thing we have to see it like is as a final, to play our football. Everybody knows in this club we play [against] a very, very tough team. They are always there – they win the Premier League, Champions League last year, they make the treble last year. I think it will be a very tough one. I think everybody is looking forward to this fixture – from the players and the fans. I think it will be a very tough game for everybody. I think both teams need the three points, so we hope we will be the team who takes the three points. I think everybody is absolutely focused and there to give everything and to win this game.”

Liverpool had a forgettable campaign last time around after missing out on Champions League football altogether. However, they have bounced back from the setback impressively and are looking like a real force this time around. “I think everybody works very hard for the goals – we set our goals from the start of the season. We go for everything we can go [for]. So I think it’s very important to build the momentum again and start winning football games. I think we are in a good shape. We have to play our football, to give everything and after we will see what the result will be,” he explained.

One of the main reasons behind Liverpool’s brilliant start to the campaign is the massive number of goals they are scoring currently. Darwin Nunez is one such player who has been impressive for both club and country. “That’s his job – he has to score goals for the team and the team has to win. Together with Mo [Salah], they score most of the goals, and Lucho [Luis Diaz] also. They are very, very good players. For the team it’s very important to have players like them to win football matches. I think and I hope in the future they will score more and more goals and we achieve our goals,” he explained.
